About the role

Become a valued member of the Above & Beyond Care' team as a Disability Support Worker in Bundaberg, QLD. In this casual position, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate actively in their community. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life of those you support.

What you'll be doing

Provide personalised care and support to individuals with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities

Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

Facilitate community participation and social inclusion by accompanying individuals to appointments, activities, and social events

Advocate for the rights and needs of the individuals you support, ensuring they receive the best possible care

Collaborate with the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans

Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure high-quality, person-centred support

What we're looking for

A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence and inclusion

Relevant qualifications in disability support, community services, or a related field, or a willingness to work towards these

Certificate III in disability support, community services, or a related field is required

Experience in providing person-centred support, with a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities

Minimum of 6 months experience in disability support is required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with the individuals you support

A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond effectively to the changing needs of the individuals you support

A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Australian citizenship is required for this position

Both police check and NDIS Worker Check are required
