- Office location is Parramatta or by negotiation - regional location encouraged/Hybrid working supported
- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super
The Nature & Natural Capital Strategy Division is a part of the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water (DCCEEW).
The Nature Markets Policy team is seeking applications for a full-time ongoing Senior Policy Officer.
Our challenge is to make NSW a destination of choice for investment in nature repair while ensuring that nature markets operate with high integrity. This is a rare opportunity for a policy professional to join our dynamic branch focused on putting nature at the forefront of economic thinking.
We are seeking an experienced policy officer to contribute to a team responsible for shaping policy to support the growth of robust nature markets in NSW.

- You are curious, a critical thinker and seek different perspectives.
- You are comfortable managing and contributing to the development and delivery of ambitious work programs and working in an inclusive, engaged and high-performing team.
About the role
- The Senior Policy Officer is a member of a small team within the Nature Markets Policy team, Natural Capital Markets and Accounts Branch that helps shape policy settings in NSW to support the growth of high integrity, high quality natural capital markets in NSW.
- They are responsible for contributing to developing nature market strategies and the team’s work program, collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders and contributing to a range of policy initiatives relating to natural capital and nature markets.
- They’re also responsible for contributing to policy advice on a range of natural capital market issues.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
