About the role

Simplyai' is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this full-time position based in Sydney, NSW, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on the Snowflake platform. This is a strategic role that will have a significant impact on the company's ability to leverage data insights to drive business decision-making.

What you'll be doing

Design and implement robust, high-performance data pipelines using Snowflake and supporting technologies

Develop and maintain data models, schemas and ETL processes to ensure the integrity, reliability and timeliness of data

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Monitor and optimise data infrastructure for performance, security and cost-effectiveness

Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership on data engineering best practices

Mentor and guide more junior members of the data engineering team

What we're looking for

8+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar technical role

Extensive knowledge of Snowflake/ and its capabilities, including data warehousing, data engineering, and data application development

Proficiency in Oracle PLSQL, Python, and other data engineering tools and frameworks

Experience designing and implementing data pipelines, with a strong understanding of ETL and ELT processes

Familiarity with cloud-based data architectures and data management best practices

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest data engineering trends and technologies
