Water Treatment Plant Operator – FIFO or DIDO (Queensland)
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Water Treatment Operator with hands-on experience in Reverse Osmosis (RO) or similar treatment processes to join a leading water solutions company operating in regional Queensland. Working on a remote (50 minute drive from central hub) facility treating leachate and industrial wastewater, this position offers a stable, long-term role with accommodation, meals, and travel options provided.

Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain the water treatment plant, pump stations, and associated infrastructure
Undertake water sampling, testing, and reporting in line with regulatory and environmental standards
Support process engineers with optimisation, troubleshooting, and performance improvement activities
Perform preventive and responsive maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime
Record operational data, inspections, and reports to support compliance and plant efficiency
Participate in on-call and after-hours response when required
Skills and Qualifications
Certificate III in Water or Wastewater Treatment Operations (or willingness to obtain)
Experience operating treatment plants utilising RO, UF, DAF, or Screw Press systems (highly regarded)
Mechanical or electrical aptitude, with ability to identify and resolve equipment issues
Valid C-class driver’s licence (manual preferred) and White Card
Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently or within a small team
Proficient in basic computer and reporting systems (Microsoft Office)
Preferred Attributes
Self-motivated and organised with strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience in remote or FIFO/DIDO environments
First Aid & CPR certification (advantageous)

This role requires the ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and hold Australian work rights.
