Travelling Dermoscopy/Surgical Registered Nurse: Training Provided

Position: Registered Nurse Dermoscopy Trainee and Surgical Trainee
Base location: Brisbane QLD (within 30 minutes of domestic airport)
Employment type: Casual progressing to ongoing

Key terms (selected)

Hours and travel: Usually two outreach travel weeks per month (each clinic 4 days). Accommodation, travel time and meal allowances provided for overnight stays.

Pay: Nurses Award Level 2–3 casual base rate + casual loading; paid hourly travel allowance. Exact hourly rate confirmed at offer acceptance based on experience level. Open to all levels of experience.

Pay progression: Stepped pay increases will apply after documented attainment of dermoscopy competency and concurrent further step increases on completion of surgical competency sign offs.

Training, reimbursement and progression (selected)

Dermoscopy study: Independent Certificate in Dermoscopy study is to be completed prior to and in between outreach trips (unpaid). Practical dermoscopy and all surgical training are provided on the job and paid. The Certificate in Dermoscopy will be provided free after 8 travel weeks on submission of course completion evidence. Surgical training: Staged competency program with documented sign offs; pay step increases apply on sign off of each surgical competency level. Trained by Dr Alan Jones

Mentorship and review: Competency reviews and pathology feedback sessions at scheduled milestones.

The candidate will have a working schedule that allow regular travel. The clinical work will be extremely rewarding but the candidate will require a resilience that is necessary travelling from town to town each day. Full training and support will be provided by the Dermoscopy Online course designer and opportunity to advance dermoscopy and surgical skills will be an opportunity not found elsewhere. Candidate will require evidence of proven high level performance in interpersonal communication throughout working life.
