About the Role
The Senior Mental Health Clinician plays a key role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people through high-quality, evidence-based care.
In this role, you will:
Facilitate excellence in clinical practice and service delivery to achieve improved outcomes for headspace clients.
Provide evidence-based therapeutic counselling to young people experiencing mild to moderate or complex mental health concerns.
Deliver direct mental health services as a primary part of your role.
Support young people at risk of, or experiencing, severe mental illness to maximise recovery and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with families and carers involved in a young person’s care.
Offer guidance, mentorship, and clinical support to Level 1 Mental Health Clinicians.
About You
You are an experienced, collaborative clinician ready to lead. You bring:
A qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work, with at least 2 years’ experience in a therapeutic space or possess transferable skills.
Mental Health Accreditation with AASW or working towards or be registered with APHRA as required by your professional body.
Proven capacity to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic care
High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and resilience
A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed practices
A valid Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
