Senior Systems Engineer - Python / Windows Server / Scheduling Tools

6-Month Contract | Up to $1,250 per day | Financial Services | Sydney (Hybrid)

Our client, a leading player in the financial services sector, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their technology team on a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension.

This is a key technical role, focused on delivering robust systems engineering solutions across complex infrastructure environments. You'll be responsible for automation, integration, and operational reliability within a high-performing financial systems landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Windows Server environments supporting mission-critical applications.

Develop automation and integration scripts primarily in Python to streamline operational workflows.

Manage and optimise enterprise job scheduling systems (e.g. Control-M, Tidal, or similar).

Work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to ensure system stability, scalability, and compliance.

Troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure platforms.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Senior Systems Engineer or similar in large-scale, enterprise environments.

Strong hands-on expertise in Windows Server administration and performance tuning.

Advanced Python scripting and automation skills.

Practical experience with enterprise job scheduling tools such as Control-M, Tidal, Autosys, or equivalent.

Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Duration: 6 months (view to extend)

Rate: Up to $1,250 per day (depending on experience)
