Located within the State-of-the-Art Westmead Health Precinct, the Community Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service is a dynamic and supportive team committed to person-centred care and innovation in neurorehabilitation.

Our team is committed to specialised rehabilitation for people with traumatic or acquired brain injury from early stages in hospital through to community reintegration.

You will have:

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Social Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting clients and families through their rehabilitation journey. You’ll provide expert psychosocial assessments, counselling, advocacy and care coordination across diverse settings.

In this role you will be:

Delivering comprehensive social work services to clients and families.

Conducting psychosocial assessments and provide adjustment counselling.

Collaborating with allied health professionals to ensure integrated care.

Liaising with external providers to support seamless transitions.

Supervising social work students and contribute to service development.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications: Degree in Social work from an accredited course.

Registration: Eligibility for full practicing membership of the Australia Association of Social Work (AASW)

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in social work assessment and intervention, within a specialist rehabilitation or mental health (recovery) setting.

Demonstrated understanding of community-based brain injury rehabilitation.

Experience working in strengths-based practice, as well as family and person-centred approach.

Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills.

Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stake holders throughout all organisational levels.

Ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

Current Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
