Join CSPD as our Child Safety & Family Coordinator and make a meaningful impact across our school communities!
In this key role, you'll lead initiatives that promote child safety and family wellbeing, guide schools on child protection responsibilities, and oversee the continuous improvement of safeguarding and family support programs.
The Child Safety & Family Coordinator is accountable for:
Collaborating with school communities to support the implementation of initiatives and programs that promote child safety and family wellbeing
Building the capacity of the Family Clinic and leading the AFLO team to provide a comprehensive support service to students and families
Overseeing the development and continuous improvement of child protection and family support programs and practices for the Diocese, including the refinement of data management processes
Providing consultation in relation to the case management of significant child protection issues
Acting as an escalation point for child safety and child protection queries and supporting school principals with guidance on child protection responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding frameworks
Monitoring Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) reports and ensuring appropriate CSPD support strategies are put in place.
About you:
Are you a compassionate, strategic professional with tertiary qualifications and experience in child safety, family support, or a related field? Do you thrive on collaboration, continuous improvement, and upholding the dignity and rights of all children and young people?
To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of CSPD along with:
Be a registered psychologist or a social worker eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Have the capacity to make a significant contribution within schools in the child protection space
A commitment to and support for the ethos and mission of the Catholic Church.
Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.
A collaborative and respectful approach to teamwork, aligned with the values and culture of Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD).
Commitment to continuous professional learning and growth and understanding of and adherence to CSPD policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.
Ability to identify, report, and assist in mitigating organisational risks.
Qualifications and accreditations:
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Eligible for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers ( AASW) OR general registration as a psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
