About This Opportunity
We're seeking a talented Research Assistant to join our Epidemiology and Global Burden of Disease Research Stream. In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to impactful research that shapes global health understanding-supporting projects from design through to analysis and publication. You'll apply your technical and analytical expertise to deliver high-quality research outcomes in a dynamic, collaborative team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducts advanced research and applies specialist technical and analytical skills.
- Designs and implements research and analytical protocols in line with discipline standards.
- Maintains accurate records, documentation, and comprehensive procedural instructions.
- Ensures compliance with ethics, safety, and continuous improvement practices.
- Contributes to high-quality research outputs, including reports and publications.
- Provides leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior researchers and technicians.

About You
- Degree in a relevant discipline with demonstrated experience in research coordination, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong research knowledge and technical skills, including conducting systematic reviews and applying established analytical methodologies.
- Proven ability to design, evaluate, and synthesise research with advanced understanding of epidemiological, mental health, and public health principles.
- Skilled in data extraction, summarisation, and statistical analysis, with capacity to learn and apply new methods quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills with adaptability to meet competing deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, producing clear, well-structured research outputs and documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, liaising effectively with diverse research stakeholders.
- Commitment to research integrity, compliance with ethics and safety standards, and an interest in mentoring or training junior staff and students.
