About the role: Wadja Wadja High School is a Yr. 7-12 secondary school with a passion for quality teaching and learning servicing the Indigenous community of Woorabinda approximately 179 kms, southwest of Rockhampton. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated teacher to come and join our close-knit team. This role is a full time, permanent position, NES probationary periods are applicable. The Position: This role involves teaching and supporting students across a range of key learning programs, with a focus on delivering engaging and meaningful learning experiences. An interest or background in Science subjects will be highly regarded. The position commences on 20th January 2026.

➢ Plan, prepare and deliver programs aligned with Version 9 Australian Curriculum.
➢ Strengthen teaching and learning by enhancing teacher knowledge, practice, and professional engagement.
➢ Ensure the effective use of time and resources to support students’ individual learning needs and pathway plans.
➢ Contribute to a culturally responsive and strengths-based educational model, working in partnership with our Indigenous community to achieve meaningful outcomes for young people.
To join our vibrant school community, you will need to demonstrate the following key accountabilities:
▪ Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification with current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). (No offer will be made until this has been produced)
▪ Work as part of a committed, culturally diverse team of professionals, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the Aboriginal community.
▪ Apply patient, consistent, and proficient approaches to building strong, positive relationships with students.
▪ Collaborate and contribute positively as part of a professional learning community.
▪ Show willingness and adaptability in developing and refining instructional strategies to support student growth and achievement.
▪ Demonstrate experience and/or a genuine interest in teaching Indigenous students (highly regarded).
▪ Effectively cater for and make adjustments to support students with disabilities.
▪ Engage students through practical, hands-on learning experiences, including participation in community-based activities that strengthen connections and foster meaningful engagement.

• Competitive salary range: $105,308 - $162,515
