Full Time Truck Driver (with Light Warehouse Duties) – 38 hrs/week + OT

The Role

We are seeking a reliable Truck & Warehouse Operator to join our team. The role primarily involves driving a medium rigid truck Isuzu NPR400 to make deliveries, with some light warehouse duties included. You will work 38 paid hours per week (excluding a minimum 30-minute unpaid meal break), with regular weekday hours and occasional overtime - typically during the week and, when required, on Saturday mornings.

Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 AM with a 38-hour work week (excluding unpaid meal breaks).
The typical finishing time is around 3:06 PM, but this may vary depending on the length of the unpaid meal break (minimum 30 minutes as per Award).
Availability for weekday overtime and occasional Saturday mornings (when required) is expected.

Key duties:

Safely operate the company LR/MR rigid truck to deliver timber & colorbond materials and supplies to customers and building sites.

Assist with load and unload the vehicle, ensuring goods are secured correctly, delivery notes completed, and equipment cared for.

Perform manual handling during deliveries: timber is usually pushed or barred off the side of the tray truck, with occasional hand unloading of decking and colorbond materials.

Occasionally assist with light warehouse tasks: receiving goods, picking and packing orders, maintaining a tidy work environment both truck & warehouse related.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, report any defects or maintenance needs.

Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a “can do” attitude as part of our team.

What we’re looking for:

Valid Australian driver’s licence with MR category (or equivalent) and experience driving a medium rigid vehicle.

Proven experience as a delivery truck driver and warehouse operator.

Forklift Licence (preferred)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexible to overtime when needed.

Strong communication skills, reliability, and commitment to safety and quality.

Physically capable of performing truck unloading and light warehouse duties (lifting, pushing, bending, and organising materials).

Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory police check.

What’s on offer:

Full-time role, 38 paid hours per week plus overtime. A probation period of 3 months applies, which may be extended by a further 3 months if necessary. During this time, performance will be assessed to confirm long-term suitability.

Unpaid meal break of minimum 30 minutes per shift (in accordance with the Road Transport and Distribution Award 2020 – MA000038).

Annual shutdown of approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year, during which employees are required to take annual leave.

Award details:

This position is covered under the Road Transport and Distribution Award 2020 (MA000038). Ordinary hours are 38 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday with a daily unpaid meal break. The standard shift starts at 7:00 AM and generally finishes around 3:06 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid break.
