So what's the role about?

The Automotive Technician role is a full-time position working where you are required to perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, diagnose, repair, and service as per the detailed Toyota product warranty guidelines, company policy, and workshop foreman instruction.

Providing expert advice in relation to the current mechanical condition of vehicles

Taking all necessary diagnostic steps to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components

Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission, and the suspension systems

Reporting all necessary work, service, or repairs to the Service Manager and recording information using in-house databases or reporting systems

Ordering parts needed as part of the warranty service

Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians

Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to the dealer product range

Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment

Ensuring the safe work practices of all staff

Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers

Providing high-level customer service to the dealership's guests

Other duties as directed

So who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

Well presented

Good communication skills

Current trade qualifications

Experience with passenger & light commercial vehicles

Toyota dealership experience an advantage but not essential

Must hold a manual current driver’s license

The ability to work as part of a team

ARC – Refrigerant Handling Licence (preferred not essential)

Road Worthy Certifier qualification (preferred not essential)
