Active OOSH (Out of School Hours) is not your average OOSH provider! We’re all about movement, connection and community. We are passionate about providing high-quality care and education to primary school-aged children in a fun, safe and active environment.

We are seeking casual Educators for our new service in Wallsend! If you love interacting with children aged 5-12 years, working with a team, and making an impact in your community, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Ensure children are in a safe and engaging learning environment where they are supported and encouraged to thrive;

Provide assistance to the Coordinator and support tasks as required;

Assist with service set-up and pack-down and other tasks and responsibilities as to contribute to a smooth-running service for children and their families;

Assist with daily tasks and ensure that processes are being adhered to;

Communicate with parents and caregivers, and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner (when required).

A friendly, energetic and solutions focused-approach;

An ability to interact with and build a strong rapport with children;

Good observation skills and an awareness of surroundings;

Good organisational skills with the ability to juggle responsibilities effectively;

Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with people of varying ages;

The ability to display initiative and work as part of a team.

Qualifications

A current Working With Children Check is required, or be willing to obtain;

Qualifications in Child Care First Aid, CPR, and/or Child Protection will be highly regarded.
