Join Our Paediatric Speech Pathology Team

South West Kids Clinic isn’t a generalist service, we’re a multidisciplinary team focused on supporting children with physical and complex needs. Our Speech Pathologists work across advanced areas such as AAC, feeding, and mealtime management, within a collaborative environment where innovation, evidence-based practice, and genuine care drive everything we do.

If you’re looking for a role that challenges you to grow your skills, make real impact, and do more than the standard paediatric therapy, this is the place where you’ll feel at home.

Why South West Kids Clinic?

Effective AAC and feeding intervention relies on access, knowledge, and collaboration, so we’ve built a workplace that delivers all three:

Comprehensive paediatric dysphagia assessment, intervention and training for a range of feeding concerns - from bottle feeding in infancy to mealtime modification and support across the lifespan.

An extensive equipment library, with mounts, switches, accessories, and iPad-based systems ready to go (no waiting weeks for trials)

Close partnerships with AAC suppliers and technology providers, giving you real-world exposure to the latest communication tools and updates

Ongoing training in both high-tech and low-tech AAC systems, feeding therapy, and paediatric neuro-rehabilitation

Weekly supervision and collaborative case discussions where you can learn from experienced clinicians and share insights with your team

An unlimited professional development budget for approved training, courses, and certifications

You’ll work alongside a team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Dieticians all committed to helping children achieve their goals in communication, feeding, independence, and everyday life.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a valued member of our team, you’ll:

Conduct assessments and deliver therapy for children with physical and neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, and Brain Injury

Develop and implement AAC systems, from robust low-tech communication boards to high-tech devices with switch or eye gaze access

Support children with feeding and mealtime management, in collaboration with our Dieticians and Occupational Therapists

Create and deliver play-based, functional therapy sessions that keep children motivated while building meaningful life skills

Work within a structured, supportive environment that encourages reflection, growth, and creativity

Whether you’re expanding your current AAC and feeding expertise or looking to specialise in these areas, you’ll have the opportunity to do so with hands-on support, resources, and mentoring.

What Makes Us Different

Therapist-owned and led – your leaders are clinicians who understand your work

Purpose-built facilities, including dedicated therapy rooms, an indoor play gym, and a rehabilitation gym with advanced equipment

Shared company cars, so you can easily access schools or community settings when needed

Flexible work options, including a 4-day work week or hybrid schedule across clinic

Strong team culture, with team days, dinners, and celebrations that recognise the difference you make

Dedicated admin support, allowing you to focus on clinical care

This position is primarily based at our Prestons clinic, with the option to work from our Picton clinic either occasionally or in the future, depending on your location and preferences.

What We’re Looking For

A qualified Speech Pathologist with current Speech Pathology Australia membership

A passion for supporting children with physical and complex communication needs

Skills or interest in AAC, feeding, and mealtime management (training provided)

A collaborative, curious, and creative mindset

A commitment to evidence-based practice and continual professional growth
