A new opportunity exists for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role offers diverse responsibilities and the chance to develop your career within a purpose-driven organisation. Key accountabilities include:

Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness

Preparing and maintaining comprehensive financial records and documentation in accordance with organisational standards

Supporting month-end and quarterly financial reporting processes, including journal entries and variance analysis

Conducting bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and investigating discrepancies

Assisting with budget preparation, financial forecasting activities, and funding acquittal processes

Liaising with internal departments, external suppliers, and funding bodies regarding financial matters

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency

Providing support on ad-hoc financial projects and participating in year-end audit preparations

To be successful in this position, you will hold a degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related field, and be currently studying towards or have intentions to pursue CPA or CA qualification. You will bring 2-3 years of experience working within a similar-sized organisation, preferably within the not-for-profit or community services sector. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive within a collaborative team environment are essential.
