Position Overview

The Trainer will be responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining staff training programs focused on safe and effective use of equipment, tools, and application methods relating to concrete restoration and decorative systems. This role ensures that all operational staff meet competency and safety standards outlined in the Home Concrete Solutions Procedure Manual (May 2020) and other company policies.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct hands-on and classroom-style training for new and existing staff on equipment use and work procedures.

· Deliver refresher and safety training sessions in line with WHS requirements.

· Develop training materials, demonstrations, competency assessments, and visual aids aligned with the Procedures Manual.

· Ensure training aligns with company safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental standards.

· Assess employee competency levels and provide tailored support to develop practical skills.

· Mentor and guide staff to improve technical performance and job quality.

Essential Skills & Experience

· Experience in concrete resurfacing, epoxy flooring, flake systems, or decorative concrete applications.

· Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance as outlined in the Procedures Manual.

· Ability to train or supervise teams in a trade or construction environment.

· Strong understanding of WHS and PPE compliance.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills.

· Ability to maintain training and competency documentation.

Desirable Qualifications

· Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).

· Trade qualification or significant practical experience in decorative concrete, flooring, or restoration.

· Current Construction White Card.

· Current driver’s licence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· 100% of field staff trained and deemed competent on all required equipment.

· Compliance with all safety procedures and zero preventable incidents during training.

· Positive trainee feedback and improved job quality metrics.

· Updated and compliant training materials maintained annually.

Work Environment

Primarily based in Thomastown VIC, with site visits for on-the-job training and audits. The role involves both indoor workshop-based instruction but primarily outdoor practical training environments.
