Are you an experienced day surgery nurse? We’re on the lookout for a DSU allrounder to join our friendly, tight-knit team!

You must bring skills in endoscopy nursing, scrub/scout, and be willing to assist in admissions and the discharge lounge as needed. This role is perfect for someone looking for 6-12 hours per week in a casual or part-time capacity, however more hours may become available due to department needs. Duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):

Deliver evidence-based nursing care

Liaise with a multi-disciplinary team

Ensure patient and staff safety

Supervise and direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs), and Student Nurses

Responding to unexpected outcomes and use problem solving skills to respond to emergencies

Complying with all legislative requirements in the workplace

Must be able to work across multiple day surgery areas such as endoscopy, scrub scout, admissions and discharge lounge when necessary

Must be flexible with shifts across AM/PM – Monday to Friday

Essential criteria

Current AHPRA Registration

Minimum 2 years' experience in a day surgery with scrub scout and endoscopy skills.

Current Advance Life Support Certification or be willing to undertake

Knowledge of NSQHS Standards

Self-motivated and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

Demonstrated Clinical knowledge and experience in the implementation of patient centred high quality clinical care

Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 3 months of commencement date
