About the role

Milli Build is seeking a highly skilled Carpenter/site supervisor. We are a small architectural building company and have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. You will play a crucial role in the execution of a detailed build from beginning to end. This is an "on the tools" position that would suit a great carpenter with a good understanding of all aspects of building.

What you'll be doing

Running a small building site, from start to finish. You will have direct access and assistance from the builder.

Leading and performing the carpentry aspect of the build, making sure details are executed and workflow is efficient

Liaise with and organize tradespeople, coordinating site activities and resolve any issues that may arise

Mentoring and training a junior carpenter, sharing your expertise and best practices

Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations

Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflows and processes within the building team

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified carpenter in residential construction. Architectural construction experience is preferred.

Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage people

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye and a passion for executing details

Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications (this can be developed within the role)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and coordinate with tradespeople and the builder.
