PLEASE…TELL US….
Where are all the ethical, authentic and passionate FULLY REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGISTS/CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGISTS that have an amazing commitment to client care and an investment in the mental health outcomes of our community as a whole and understand the importance and privilege of such a role?
At Equanimity, a multidisciplinary clinic that has been serving Australia for over 16 years, with more than 50 years collective experience amongst our amazing team, and serving the beautiful Central Coast for 15 years now - we had until our recent hire started to doubt the existence of such clinicians. But we found one and now we know you are out there so now we need another!!
The Role
We are seeking a passionate Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist to join our team for 2–3+ days per week, with the potential for additional days for the right candidate. The position is based in Erina Heights, Central Coast, NSW, and commences mid-November 2025 or sooner. We are searching for a unique individual—a “unicorn”—for whom therapy is both an art and a science, and who desires to work in an environment that feels welcoming and homely rather than clinical. Our previous recruitment efforts have shown that teams like ours are rare, and applicants have been equally excited to discover us. We value effective and creative therapy, evidence-based practice, compassion, and fun. If you are creative, caring, and committed to evidence-based approaches, we want to meet you.
Our Space
Our practice is situated in picturesque Erina Heights, offering ample parking—including disabled access—and facilities designed for accessibility. The environment is enhanced by the natural sounds of bell birds and cicadas, and the promise of excellent coffee nearby. Inside, our space prioritises comfort, safety, and belonging, featuring sensory mats, music, candles, a dedicated sensory room equipped with a Nintendo Switch, acoustic polyvagal reset tools, djembe drums, sand tray, assessment and play rooms, neurofeedback, and more.
Who You’ll Work With
Our client base is wonderfully diverse, including referrals through NDIS, DVA, BUPA, GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, gynaecologists, community organisations, educators, and insurers. The multidisciplinary team consists of psychologists and soft tissue specialists, recognising that trauma sometimes requires somatic release. We welcome applications from MHSW and MHOT professionals as well. Full administrative and reception support is provided, allowing you to focus more on client care and self-care, with reduced paperwork.
Supervision & Support
We offer comprehensive supervision options, including individual, peer, group, PsyBA board-endorsed, and registrar supervision, all with no pay-back clause. Regular complex case reviews are conducted with a focus on consent, confidentiality, and kindness. You will have the opportunity to pursue your therapeutic interests and, when ready, move into leadership roles.
Role & Benefits
· Flexible work arrangements: 2–3 days per week, with potential for more
· Above-award wages, always aligned with your training and experience
· Professional development allowance available after probation, including international PD opportunities
· Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family
· Neuro-affirming and gender-inclusive environment—everyone is welcome - and we don't just say that we actually mean it!
· Complete admin and practice management support
· Collaborative client care approach
· Burnout Prevention Model with a full-time caseload capped at 24 billable hours per week
Who You Are
· You are moved when clients feel understood and supported
· You believe psychology should be innovative and deeply human
· You value evidence-based practice as more than a checklist, seeing and supporting real people
· You embrace the challenges of trauma, bringing joy, humour, and originality to therapy
What You Bring
· Registration as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist (or within 8 weeks of registration). MHSW and MHOT candidates are also encouraged to apply
· SIRA accreditation, Working With Children Check (WWCC), Clean National Police Check, Medicare/DVA registration, insurance (or willingness to obtain these)
· APS or AAPi membership (or willingness to obtain)
· Commitment to AHPRA’s code of conduct, long-term client wellbeing, ongoing learning, and creative therapy approaches
· This role is for those seeking a long-term commitment; please do not apply if you only see this as a short-term opportunity, as our clients deserve ongoing care
How to Apply
Email your CV and cover letter to [email protected] with the subject line ‘fully registered unicorn for your herd’.
We welcome a stampede of applicants and will interview as applications arrive, concluding the process once we find the perfect new addition to our team.
If you are looking for a playful, compassionate, creative, and inviting workplace, you may already be halfway home.
