We are a new outside school hours care service located in Newman, WA. This service is being opened as a response to the critical need for quality child care for children aged 5-12. We are looking for someone with a passion for providing a nurturing environment for children to coordinate our OSHC and Creche facilities.

About the role:

The OSHC Coordinator is responsible for the effective supervision and control of the service within a legal framework. They are required to work as a team leader, to effectively manage and support the staff team within legislative requirements and service policy and procedures and to provide a safe and stimulating environment that meets the developmental needs and recreational interests of school age children. They also need to ensure the service is inclusive and responsive to the needs of families and to maintain own professional development and work ethically.

This role will involve the day-to-day operation of the OSHC facility as well as the day-to-day operation of the on-site Creche. Working with the CEO to ensure the smooth operation of both services for the Newman Community.

About You:

Essential Criteria:

Certificate IV in Out of School Hours Care or Equivalent

Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law

Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Regulations

Knowledge of the national Quality Framework including the National Quality Standards and Framework for School Age Care in Australia

Ability to co-ordinate a range of recreational and leisure activities for Primary School Aged Children

Proven skills in the development and implementation of activity programs for 5-12 year olds

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Proven skills in the supervision of a small team

Knowledge of the processes of policy development and implementation

Experience in administrative and book keeping processes

Desirable:

Knowledge of current issues in Outside School Hours Care

Skills in liaising and networking

Current Lifesaving certificate
