About The Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Key Operator (Team Lead), to join the Priestley’s family. You will play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring that our baking machinery operates smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment, conducting quality checks, and ensuring that production meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate employees ensuring that GMP and PC sheets are followed.

Provide leadership and help to build and encourage an effective work environment.

Coordinate and track manufacturing and packaging operations.

Perform pre-start-up tests and inspections.

Ensure production lines are running to set up, clean down and run time standards.

Run the machine to operational specifications/procedures to complete daily schedules.

Provide direction to employees working on the line in respect of task completion, hygiene, quality and safety.

Notify shift supervisors and or area supervisors regarding quality standards that are deemed not acceptable.

Hand over complete information regarding line operation to the next shift key operator.

Report on any Labour and/or Material variances, Report on waste, and Review V8 reports.

Perform quality checks ensuring all PC Sheets data are recorded correctly and on time.

Assist operators in the set up and operation of machinery, and troubleshooting/problem solving where necessary.

Train new staff, and perform training on new or revised procedures, or new/changed regulations, according to the requirements stated in the cGMP and as per the organisation’s SOPs, ensuring training records are signed off.

Report any maintenance issues relating to machinery, equipment and services.

Adhere to relevant requirements stated in the cGMP, internal SOP’s and company policies and procedures.

About You:

Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment (required), preferably in the FMCG industry (highly desirable).

Strong understanding of machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality products.

Well-developed organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a manufacturing setting, with a strong safety mindset.

Ability to create targets and KPI's for teams and individuals to strive for and maintain the momentum for achieving them with the support of the Production Manager

Exceptional people leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with sound computer literacy

Physically fit (with the ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment).
