Are you motivated to inspire hope in others in the deaf community and support them to find their strength, purpose and meaning?

Our Auslan proficient casual support workers in the Metro South core support team deliver community outreach and individualised core and capacity support services to RFQ Metro South NDIS participants. This includes but is not limited to supporting NDIS clients to work towards their specified goals and assist with communication and providing support to attend medical appointments, NDIS reviews, community activities and daily tasks of daily living.

No day is the same, but may include:

• Providing clients with identified support with day-to-day tasks and activities in accordance with the published roster.
• Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support clients with day-to-day tasks and activities.
• Undertaking duties in accordance with the published roster and in response to direction from Line Supervisors.

You will need:

• Demonstrated competence and experience in modelling the use of Auslan.
• Experience supporting vulnerable people.
• Valid drivers’ license and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property).
• Life and work skills that is transferable to the role
• A strong sense of professional boundaries and integrity
• Access to a smart phone to be used for work purposes.
• Undergo criminal history screening and obtain and maintain a valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance pursuant to the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld). NDIS Worker Screen card that has already been acquired is extremely advantageous.
