Ardent Medical is a general practice group that provides primary care and general practice services to Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs). We are currently seeking General Practitioners (VR) to join our mobile vaccination team.

Role and responsibilities

perform their duties as a consulting and supervising medical practitioner on the day of vaccination clinics remotely (via telehealth).

provide medical advice, clinical oversight and governance to all recipients of the vaccine.

work in collaboration with nurse immunisers and RACF staff to safely administer the vaccine to the recipients.

ensure that all recipients are consulted on the appropriateness of the vaccine and understands the risk / side effects of the vaccine they are receiving (recognising the residents in aged care settings are most likely to have one or more chronic illness.

ensure patient safety following an adverse effects (AEFI) and the incident is reported to the correct channels.

ensure patient data including Medicare Card details and vaccination data are accurately recorded on the system and ready to be uploaded into the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

The successful candidate:

is registered with AHPRA and is a FRACGP or FACRRM.

ideally has worked in aged care or in a primary healthcare setting and has experience in vaccine clinics.

has no restrictions to work in Australia. We are unable to consider sponsorship for overseas applicants.

must have their own professional indemnity insurance (a copy of your policy must be provided to Ardent Medical for record purposes).

has a great attitude and is able to work in collaboration with our nurse immunisers.

is committed to the company and a team player.

has intermediate computer knowledge and is comfortable using various software and digital tools.

has good social and communication skills.
