ABOUT THE ROLE
Prace College is seeking an education support worker to work with at-risk 16-19 year olds on a fixed term contract. There are two positions available:

12-month fixed term contract

6-month fixed term contract

You will be part of a dynamic team passionate about helping students to achieve their goals through education. The role requires a dedicated professional to provide impactful and adaptive classroom support.

Responsibilities and duties will be across two campuses (Mernda and/or Reservoir):

Classroom support
Supervising and Assisting Students
Administration, record-keeping and reporting
Child safety

Prace College is an Independent Specialist School that provides supportive, flexible and inclusive education to meet the needs of at-risk young people, and supports them to re-engage with and participate in learning, community and work activities. We are a not-for-profit organisation.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications and experience:

Certificate III in Education Support or similar

Minimum 1 year experience in an education support role with students aged 16-19

An understanding of trauma informed practice

Selection Criteria:

Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent.

Capacity to undertake education support tasks across a range of functions within a school environment and the capacity to provide support and to students.

Demonstrated capacity to be an effective team member and to work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support staff, coordinators and students.

Demonstrated proficiency in administrative skills, including the use of office systems, software or technical equipment as relevant to the position.

An understanding of working with at-risk-young people and/or of trauma informed practice.

FURTHER INFORMATION

As part of Prace's recruitment and selection process, applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment safety screening process. Successful appointment to a position will be subject to, but not limited to, the following checks: National Police Check, Victorian Employee Working with Children Check, current and valid Driver’s License. All costs associated with safety screening will be at the applicant’s expense.
