An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced and dedicated educator starting in 2026 at Grange Road Kindergarten. Based in Sandringham, Bayside, this highly-regarded, committee-managed service is proud to celebrate 70 years of nurturing local children.

As a large, two-room kindergarten supporting almost 100 families with a dedicated team of 14, our community focus drives everything we do. Grange Road holds an "Exceeding" rating across all seven Quality Areas. You’ll be able to make use of our recently upgraded outdoor play space to encourage children’s development, confidence, and vital social skills.

The role/s

We are seeking two vital roles to support and join our established team: a dedicated and knowledgeable Educational Leader (EL) and a passionate Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).

To ensure we find the perfect fit, we welcome applications from candidates interested in fulfilling these roles separately (ECT or EL) or in a combined capacity (EL and ECT). Please indicate your preferred role(s) when submitting your application.

Hours: the combined Teacher/Educational Leader role attracts a total of 31.5 hours per week. We offer above award hours, paid at VECTEA 2020 Rates:

9.5 hours non-contact for ECT

7 hours for EL

Early Childhood Teacher - 4yo

Hours per week: 15 hours contact + 9.5 hours non-contact (above award)

In 2026, Blue Group sessions will run on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30am–4:00pm. We are looking for a dedicated educator who fosters a happy, relaxed, and inclusive environment where every child is valued as an individual and inspired to learn through play.

Instructional Leadership: Drive best-practice programming (aligned with EYLF/NQS) using evidence-based pedagogy and a commitment to explicit instruction and deep learning.

Team & Family Collaboration: Lead and mentor your team of two educators while fostering strong, respectful, and collaborative partnerships with families to extend learning.

Curriculum & Environment: Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities within a stimulating, safe environment, ensuring the strategic use of School Readiness Funding.

Continuous Professional Growth: Maintain a professional, mature, and reflective approach, actively seeking ongoing professional development and using data/feedback to refine your practice. We offer $500 annually per ECT for professional development.

Minimum Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, and up-to-date Child Safe Standards knowledge and certifications (Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR, First Aid).

Educational Leader

Hours per week: 7 hours (above award)

We are seeking a highly skilled Educational Leader (EL) to drive excellence across our kindergarten program and uphold our "Exceeding" standards. This vital role involves shaping our educational approach, leading the development of a high-quality, reflective curriculum (aligned with VEYLDF), and mentoring our large team. Our EL will work closely with the Nominated Supervisor, Administrative support team, and our thriving Committee of Management to manage the QIP, update policies, and coordinate staff professional development.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Program Leadership: Leading the curriculum design, facilitating reflective discussions with educators, and mentoring staff to enhance intentional teaching and practice.

Quality & Documentation: Guiding curriculum documentation, ensuring children's assessments effectively inform planning, and maintaining high standards for communicating learning progress to families.

Coordination & Support: Organising educational experiences (like incursions/excursions) and providing crucial support for specialized applications such as Kindergarten Inclusion Support Services (KISS).

Governance: Attending monthly meetings with the Nominated Supervisor and the Committee to review the QIP, manage funding (including School Readiness Funding), and coordinate mandatory professional development for the whole service.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and up-to-date Child Safe Standards certifications

Preferred Qualifications: Considerable experience planning and delivering high quality educational programs; PLUS previous people management experience, leading and mentoring large and dynamic teams.
