ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disability. You’ll lead the development and implementation of behaviour support plans within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive functional behaviour assessments
Designing and delivering evidence-based behavioural and therapeutic interventions
Reviewing and addressing restrictive practices in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
Providing clinical supervision, training, and mentoring to Behaviour Support Practitioners and students
Supporting the consistent implementation of behavioural strategies across the team
This role offers the opportunity to build long-term relationships with participants and witness the positive impact of your work. You’ll also play a key role in developing emerging practitioners.
Hybrid working arrangements are supported, with regular attendance required at our Cheltenham and/or Frankston offices.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and eligibility for AASW, AHPRA, or equivalent membership
Current registration with the NDIS Commission as a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner (minimum) or Advanced/Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner
Minimum 3 years’ experience in behaviour support or a related field
Demonstrated experience in conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing evidence-based behaviour support plans
Previous experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring, or training to behaviour support practitioners or students
Willingness to work flexible hours when required
Passion for working with people with disability
Knowledge of the NDIS and experience supporting participants to achieve their goals
Ability to manage a caseload and maintain timely documentation
Commitment to evidence-based practice
Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, client databases, and internet use
A current Victorian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Willingness to travel across Greater Melbourne
Satisfactory pre-employment checks: Working with Children Check, Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening, and COVID-19 vaccination evidence
