The Organisation:

TransitCare is a not for profit organisation that provides socially inclusive, safe and reliable transport and support services to assist socially isolated people and people with disabilities to live independently in their own homes and participate in their communities. Main services provided are social and medical transport and activities for clients. We deliver services in Townsville, Cairns, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. TransitCare is proud of our recent completion of our Reflect Level RAP. Accredited to ISO 14001 & 9001 we are committed to continuous improvement as we strive toward Best Practice in all areas of our operation.

The Role:

This permanent full time role is located at our Townsville Branch. The working hours are between 1.30pm and 10pm Tuesday through to Saturday.

Our drivers are the face of the organisation and are ultimately responsible for the delivery of this vital community service. The major components of this role are:

Operating and maintaining allocated fleet vehicles

Assisted pick ups and transport for elderly and disabled passengers including some work with manual and electric wheelchairs

Assisting with transport and carriage of shopping bags and mobility aids

Operation of computerised trip and GPS system

The Person:

You are a positive, energetic, person with an open licence and a sound knowledge of Townsville and surrounds. You will need to have the ability to complete basic written reports clearly and accurately, a clear criminal history and be eligible for a Industry Authority as well as Blue and Yellow Cards. Drivers need to be physically fit and able to undertake annual CPR training.
