Senior Software Engineer | Rust

Location: Remote-first (Australia/NZ preferred)

About the Role
We’re partnering with a product focused company looking to expand its engineering team. As a Senior Rust Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and building high-performance, secure, and scalable systems. You’ll collaborate across teams to shape the architecture and ensure the platform’s reliability and speed.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems in Rust

Collaborate closely with product, DevOps, and design teams

Contribute to architectural decisions with a focus on performance, security, and resilience

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Rust (commercial experience or advanced personal projects)

Solid understanding of systems programming and distributed systems

Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, concurrency)

Experience with AWS, data modelling, and CI/CD pipelines

Familiarity with GitLab, Docker, and agile development practices
