Your new role:
As the Director of Clinical Governance and Strategy, you will provide expert clinical leadership and strategic oversight to drive excellence in safety, quality, and service delivery across Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services. You'll influence system-wide improvement, digital transformation, and restorative culture while collaborating with senior leaders to shape future models of care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the implementation of evidence-based clinical governance frameworks across MSAMHS.
- Providing strategic direction and expert advice on quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
- Overseeing accreditation, risk management, and clinical performance reporting.
- Driving digital transformation and reform in line with Restorative Just Culture principles.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with executive leaders, government, and community partners.
- Leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
About you:
You are a values-driven leader with exceptional clinical governance expertise and a passion for quality and innovation in mental health. You thrive in complex environments and bring strategic insight, collaborative leadership, and evidence-based decision-making to everything you do.
You'll demonstrate this with:
- Proven leadership in clinical governance, safety, and quality within a large health service or mental health context.
- High-level communication, influencing, and relationship management skills across multidisciplinary and stakeholder groups.
- Expertise in leading change, digital reform, and strategic improvement initiatives.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and empower teams to achieve performance excellence.
- Strong analytical and data-informed decision-making capability.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and professional registration (postgraduate qualifications in improvement science or risk/change management highly regarded).

Metro South Health is the major provider of public health services, and health education and research, in the Brisbane south side, Logan, Redlands and Scenic Rim regions.
We serve an estimated population of 1 million people, 23 per cent of Queensland’s population. We employ more than 10,000 staff and have an annual operating budget of $1.6 billion.
