Your new role:
As the Director of Clinical Governance and Strategy – Nursing Director, you will provide strategic, operational and professional nursing leadership across Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS). You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the service's direction, ensuring safe, high-quality and person-centred care through strong governance, innovative models of care and effective resource management.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading clinical governance, safety, quality and data analytics functions across MSAMHS.
- Driving the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans aligned with Metro South Health priorities.
- Providing expert leadership in service delivery, fiscal management and health workforce strategy.
- Partnering with executive leaders to embed accountability, transparency and continuous improvement across nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Overseeing performance, compliance, and service outcomes in line with national and state benchmarks.
- Acting as a key member of the MSAMHS Executive Leadership Team and contributing to system-wide strategy and planning.
About you:
You are a highly experienced nursing leader with exceptional strategic insight, governance expertise and a passion for improving mental health outcomes. You thrive in complex environments, lead with integrity and inspire excellence in others.
You will demonstrate your success with:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and relevant tertiary qualifications in Nursing.
- Proven leadership in clinical governance, safety, quality, and strategic service development.
- Expertise in fiscal accountability, health data and analytics, and evidence-based decision making.
- Strong skills in change management, stakeholder engagement, and organisational leadership.
- Advanced ability to translate research and policy into practical improvements for patient care.
- A collaborative approach to leadership that fosters person-centred, recovery-focused care.
- (Highly desirable) Postgraduate qualifications in nursing, leadership, management or a related field.
