About the role
Mater Health Brisbane is seeking an experienced Clinical/Registered Nurse with current AHPRA nursing registration and relevant qualifications to join the team as a Clinical Nurse – Infection Management in a permanent full-time capacity.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a nurse with a passion or keen interest in infection control to become part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Your enthusiasm and commitment to nursing will be valued in a supportive and professional environment.
Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This role will see you:
- Assist and support all members of the Infection Management team in the delivery of the wider Infection Prevention and Control program
- Use computer programs including Microsoft (MS) Office, Infection Control software (e.g. Multiprac) and hospital patient and pathology management systems
- Undertake risk assessments, surveillance and compliance audits including provision of feedback to staff
- Assist in managing patients under transmission-based precautions across Mater SEQ facilities including daily rounding
- Provide relevant infection prevention and control advice to a diverse group of stakeholders
- Acquire knowledge in bloodstream infections, surgical site infections, multi-resistant and significant organisms and become confident in performing healthcare associated infection (HAI) investigations
- Improve patient safety, through strengthening the workforce and engaging in quality improvement activities
- Assist in facilitating the Infection Management staff health and immunisation programs
About you
To be successful for this position you will possess:
- Proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Current Australian Drivers licence, travel to other Mater sites maybe required
- Post-graduate qualification in infection prevention and control or similar, and previous experience, highly desirable
- High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
- Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Hand hygiene auditor desirable however full training will be provided
