About Q-GEN:
Q-Gen is QIMR Berghofer's TGA-licensed GMP manufacturing facility, specialising in the production of human cell therapy products for clinical trials. With a focus on regulatory compliance and manufacturing excellence, Q-Gen works with both internal researchers and external commercial partners to bring novel therapies to patients.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
Applications are invited for the Sennior Production Officer.
In this role, you will apply your production expertise to the manufacture of investigational cell therapy products. As a key member of the Q-Gen Cell Therapeutics production team, you will contribute to all aspects of GMP manufacturing, including aseptic processing, stock control, equipment management, housekeeping, and the review and approval of production documentation. This position requires the ability to work both collaboratively and independently while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, documentation, and record keeping within a regulated manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee GMP production activities, including aseptic manufacture of cell therapies, environmental monitoring, cleanroom preparation, and material management.
- Maintain compliance and documentation standards, ensure accurate, timely completion and review of all GMP and quality records in accordance with Q-Gen policies.
- Support operational excellence, contribute to process improvement, equipment validation, and technology transfer activities while meeting production targets.
- Provide leadership and training, supervise and mentor production staff, support investigations, and act as Production Supervisor when required.
- Uphold safety and quality principles, adhere to GMP, WHS, and institutional procedures, ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment.
Note: This position is an on-site position and may require weekend or evening work
About you:
You've an experienced GMP production professional who take pride in delivering work of the highest quality. You bring hands-on expertise in aseptic manufacturing and a sting understanding of GMP principles, supported by excellent documentation and communication skills. you enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where precision and compliance are key , and you're motivated by contributing to the development of life-changing cell therapies.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor degree in a related discipline of Science or equivalent experience,
- Extensive experience (min 5 years) and high level kills in GMP production in cell therapy, medical laboratory, blood services, pathology laboratory, food manufacturing or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven communication skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Code of GMP for Blood and Tissues.
Remuneration: Salary range is $96,461 to $104,442 plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 3 years.
