Obesity Surgery WA is a leading obesity and metabolic clinic in Perth. Our services include both surgical and non-surgical weight-loss options. The practice has locations both north and south of the river (Booragoon and West Leederville) with 2 surgeons and supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes dietitians, bariatric physicians and an exercise physiologist. We offer our patients a comprehensive service to ensure the best possible weight-loss success.

About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian, preferably with experience working in the area of bariatric dietetics to work alongside our multidisciplinary team. The role of the bariatric dietitian is to provide nutritional guidance and counselling to bariatric patients through the development and implementation and monitoring of dietary recommendation pertaining to weight-loss. This would require having a good understanding of the principles of weight-loss surgery, an ability to assess nutrition status through regular blood tests and the formulation of nutrition care plans. (Full-time equivalent salary range $88,920-$108,680 plus superannuation)

Essential criteria:

Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status (evidence required)

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Accredited Practising Dietitian is required

Eligible for Medicare provider number

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Excellent presentation, punctuality and positive and motivated attitude

Commitment to continuing professional development, quality and education

Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating with a well-established multidisciplinary team

Able to commit to working 9am -5pm 1 or 2 days/week: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday

Permanent resident status is required for this position

Highly desirable:

Previous experience managing bariatric surgery patients

Flexibility to do some relief cover highly desirable
