The Tullamarine site is a newly commissioned ~$1 billion state of the art influenza vaccine and antivenom pharmaceutical manufacturing site, the only one of it's kind in the southern hemisphere.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Electrical Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation, this role is responsible for managing fault correction, calibration, preventative maintenance, and overhaul of instrumentation and control equipment across CSL’s state-of-the-art facility.
You will initially commence on a 10-day fortnight during commissioning on day shift, before transitioning to a rotating 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights) supporting production in a GMP manufacturing environment.
Duration: 12-month contract (potential to extend or convert to permanent)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)
Location: Tullamarine
Role Responsibilities
Perform calibration, troubleshooting and fault correction across a wide range of process instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, conductivity, pH, valves).
Shut down, isolate, commission and test run machines and equipment as required for maintenance and production readiness.
Diagnose, repair, and calibrate control/monitoring loop elements, electronic systems, and sub-assemblies.
Interpret and modify control system diagrams, electrical/electronic schematics and engineering drawings.
Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and ensure workshop and reference calibration equipment is GMP-compliant.
Maintain SAP CMMS records and assist with work planning, isolations, risk assessments, breakdowns, shutdowns, commissioning, and scheduled servicing.
Support cleanroom operations when required (gowning).
Skills and Experience
Relevant Australian trade qualification (Cert III–IV) as an Electrical OR Instrumentation Technician.
Demonstrated experience with technical instrumentation in pharmaceutical, FMCG, oil & gas, or similar industries.
Strong knowledge of calibration methods and non-conformance investigations.
Computer literacy with SAP or similar CMMS systems.
GMP and cleanroom experience.
Fault-finding, problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
Safety-first approach with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to rotate across day and night shifts.
