St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals are co-located in the same facility, and opened in 2015. The hospitals provide both public and private services for people living in Perth's eastern suburbs and nearby regional areas. The hospital includes an Accident and Emergency Department, critical care unit, mental health unit, and maternity ward.
Your role
St John of God Midland Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical and Medical ward, in a fixed-term, part-time position for up to 6 months. We are seeking a Registered Nurse who is either experienced or keen to further develop their skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ward 3A is a 30-bed private surgical and medical ward and offers 7-hour morning and afternoon shifts and 10-hour night shifts, across both weekdays and weekends. Ward 3A provides care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures, including orthopaedic, urology, gynaecological, ENT, vascular, colorectal, and general surgery (excluding cardiac and neurological). The ward also accommodates general medical patients, with no telemetry or ACE services.

The Position
- Maintains and develops clinical skills in order to care for patients appropriate to level of competence.
- Delivers a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.
- Adheres to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards.
- Acts as the patient's advocate and facilitate the rights of individuals.
- Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.
- Participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care through the continuum of care.
- Prioritises workload using resources effectively.
- Provides supervision to Enrolled Nurses, students and PCAs as required
Position Requirements
The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You will bring recent clinical experience in an acute care or relevant healthcare setting, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
You will possess well-developed communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. A sound understanding of relevant legislation, professional codes, and clinical standards is essential. A demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development is also required.

- Salary: $79,755 to $102,048 pro rata, plus 12% superannuation
