St John of God Berwick Hospital is a new state-of-the-art facility providing comprehensive services and care for
Melbourne's rapidly growing south eastern communities. The hospital is well-equipped with surgical robots and cutting edge technologies.
Your role
We are excited to have you join our high complexity and acuity Medical Ward.
Your role as an experienced Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse will involve providing safe and compassionate clinical care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Our 34 bed Medical unit incorporates a diverse case mix of patients, General medicine, Respiratory, Thoracic, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Palliative/End of Life care with transition of patients from ICU and CCU where necessary.
We currently have the below opportunities available
- Enrolled Nurse, permanent part-time 0.4 FTE contract
- Registered Nurse, fixed term part-time 0.6 FE contract (contract currently available until Sep 2026)
- Registered Nurse, permanent part-time 0.8 FTE contract
We have a variety of shifts available to suit your lifestyle
- Rotating shifts AM and PM, Monday through to Sunday
- AM 0700 to 1500hrs
- PM 1430 to 2230hrs
The Position:
- Assess plans, deliver and evaluate patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
- Promote and contribute to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital.
- Provide patient education and act as a resource where appropriate.
- Supports and supervises staff and students as required and within the scope of nursing practice.
- Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the ward and within the hospital.
- Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.
We are seeking compassionate and committed Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to join our team. All applicants must hold current AHPRA registration relevant to their role and demonstrate a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a medical or oncological/ palliative care specialty.
Registered Nurses will demonstrate advanced clinical skills, sound knowledge of legislation and standards, and the ability to independently assess, plan, and manage complex care. RNs should have strong problem-solving skills, clinical judgement, and a commitment to leadership, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development.
Enrolled Nurses will provide safe, effective care within their scope of practice under RN supervision. ENs should have relevant clinical experience, a solid understanding of hygiene, infection control, and manual handling, and a proactive approach to learning and teamwork.
Both roles require excellent communication, a team-focused attitude, and a strong commitment to patient care and safety

- Salary Enrolled Nurse: $64,650 to $77,180, pro rata per annum, plus 12% superannuation
- Salary Registered Nurse: $81,995 to $103,482 per annum, plus pro rata 12% superannuation
