The Role
We’re seeking a Cropping Overseer to work closely with the Farm Manager in leading day-to-day cropping operations and managing farm infrastructure. This hands-on position is well-suited to a driven individual keen to contribute to one of the region’s most diverse and progressive cropping enterprises.
The Farming Operation
Noongaburra Farm is situated just 12 kilometres from the vibrant town of Hay, along the scenic Murrumbidgee River. This role involves close collaboration with the Farm Manager to implement and manage the cropping program, overseeing a team of farm hands and coordinating with contractors as needed. The property typically supports 1,000 hectares of irrigated summer crops and between 1,500 to 2,000 hectares of irrigated winter crops, offering a diverse and productive agricultural environment
Key Responsibilities
Implement best practice cropping systems in consultation with agronomists and the Farm Manager.
Assist in planning and executing cropping programs aligned with yield targets.
Monitor paddock conditions, crop health, and input usage.
Coordinate field labour and cropping activities.
Liaise with the Farm Manager to optimise water use.
Maintain machinery, infrastructure, and accurate records.
Contribute to budgeting and capital works planning.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Strong skills in GPS spraying, sowing, and harvesting.
Sound agronomic knowledge and practical experience.
Effective communication and record-keeping skills.
Understanding of budgeting and procurement processes.
Current driver’s licence (HC desirable).
