As the Team Leader Asset Maintenance (LMC), you will work collaboratively within the LMC management team to lead, supervise and work alongside a team of five (5) staff in the operational areas of Maintenance, and Welding Fabrication.

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Remuneration package of $3,343.26 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,011.91 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).
  • Thirty-eight (38) hour week with one (1) Rostered Day Off (RDO) per month.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Team Leader Asset Maintenance (LMC), you will be responsible for:

  • Provide operational supervision of Council's LMC asset maintenance team (i.e., Maintenance Operators, and Welder Fabricators) as well as undertaking operational duties alongside the team as required.
  • Assist the LMC Assistant Manager to plan and coordinate teamwork activities including plant and materials and participate in infrastructure repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide on-site supervision of team members and contractors to implement works, objectives and directions conveyed by management, ensuring work is conducted safely and to required standards including but not limited to, toolbox and pre-start meetings.
  • Set and monitor work tasks on a daily basis, reporting to the assistant manager on progress against sets tasks and areas for improvement and/or opportunities for increased productivity and efficiency.
  • Investigate customer service requests and liaise with relevant staff or stakeholders to resolve the request/s.
  • Assist the LMC Facility Manager and LMC Assistant Manager to conduct livestock sales.
  • Operate scale and ring computers.
  • Maintain animal health requirements for livestock on site.
  • Manage contractors in accordance with Council's procurement processes.
  • Undertake administrative duties relevant to the role including but not limited to; Work Health & Safety documentation and reports (i.e., site safety inductions, risk assessments), purchasing requisitions; quotations and orders; timesheet and leave authorisations, maintenance of registers etc.
  • Operate and maintain items of plant, equipment, tools (hand and power) and personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE/C) in accordance with Council standards.
  • Undertake general maintenance duties.
  • Project manage specialty maintenance and/or preparation of facilities in relation to approved Council events and programs.
  • Assist management with the development and implementation of the annual work programs and operational plans, including budgetary and other resource requirements.

Essential Requirements of the Position:

As the successful applicant, you will bring a strong mix of qualifications, skills and professional experience, including:

  • Qualifications relevant to the role i.e., Civil Construction, Metal Fabrication and/or Mechanical Repairs (Desirable).
  • Class C Driver's Licence (LR and Skidsteer Desirable).
  • General Construction Induction Training Card.
  • Substantial experience relevant to the role (i.e., civil construction, metal fabrication and repairs, pneumatics and hydraulics) along with experience leading a multi-disciplined operational team.
  • Solid time management, planning, administrative and computer skills including Microsoft Office.

In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Q-Fever and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
