Care Forward is an innovative, leading provider of home care services. We are a locally owned, not for profit, Tasmanian community service provider with a focus on reablement, health and wellbeing. Our core business consists of the coordination and delivery of home support services and community care across Tasmania.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Respond to daily maintenance requests safely, efficiently, and promptly.

Use and maintain equipment responsibly; report faults or damage as needed.

Apply initiative and sound judgement to prioritise and resolve maintenance issues.

Perform minor non-trade repairs and alterations to fixtures and fittings.

Primary Duties:

Lawn mowing, trimming, and edging around walkways and garden beds.

Pruning and trimming of trees, hedges, and bushes to ensure safety and access.

Pressure cleaning of paths and walkways to reduce slip hazards.

Routine home maintenance including:

Installing handrails

Changing light bulbs

Lock and latch repairs

External window cleaning

Sweeping walkways and removing garden debris.

Weed control and shrub trimming.

Minor equipment maintenance and cleaning.

Safe storage and upkeep of tools, vehicle, and trailer.

Transporting garden waste to local refuse stations.

About You

Are you reliable, hands on, and take pride in maintaining safe and welcoming spaces? We’re seeking Two Maintenance Officers to join our aged care community team. In this role, you’ll help ensure our consumers homes are well cared for, supporting the comfort and safety of our residents. If you’re looking for meaningful work in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Minimum Requirements

· Current motor vehicle driver's licence.

· Two (2) professional referee checks - worked with candidate recently.

· National Police Certificate obtained within the last three (3) months.

· Working with Vulnerable people card.

· Current First Aid Certificate

Highly Desired Experience

· Ability to work with limited supervision in a diverse community setting.

· The ability to establish and maintain co-operative working relationships.

· Experience working in an aged, health or community setting.

· Certificate III in Aged, Disability, Community or relevant discipline.

Qualifications:

Certificates in the following will be an advantage but are not essential:

· Certificate in Brush cutter operations

· Certificate in Chainsaw operations

· Certificate in Treating & Controlling weeds

· Certificate in Working Safely at Heights
