Randstad is currently partnering with EOS (Electro Optic Systems) who are looking for a highly experienced and technically proficient professional with a strong background in Defence trials, systems engineering, and stakeholder engagement. This role plays a crucial role in the delivery of EOS's engineering and operational objectives, with a focus around ensuring trials and training activities are executed to the highest standards, including technical rigor.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Canberra and is full-time, onsite Monday to Friday.
About the role
In this role you will lead the planning and execution of complex trials and training activities across EOS sites and customer facilities, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, safety protocols, and business objectives. Day to day tasks include:
- Leading the planning, coordinating, and execution of trials and training activities at EOS facilities, firing ranges, and customer sites
- Overseeing all work in accordance with current policies
- Identifying any and all risks whilst proposing treatments
- Providing a high level of mentoring to successfully trial team members
- Allocating resources to ensure business priorities and project requirements are met
- Participating in assurance activities and review boards
- Providing engineering deliverables that are cleared for release along with accurate advice around risk and issue analysis
- Acting as a Nominated Person under the EOS Firearms Permit in accordance with the NSW Firearms Act 1996 and Firearms Regulation 2017.
About you
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to manage multi-domain trials, mentor technical teams, and navigate Defence compliance frameworks, whilst being NV1 cleared and capable of acting as a Nominated Person under the EOS Firearms Permit. Additionally, you'll require:
- Australian citizenship
- Extensive experience in Defence trials across testing and evaluation in systems engineering
- Qualifications in engineering, systems integration or similar
- A strong understanding of Defence safety and compliance frameworks
- Experience in handling live weapons firing, RF testing, with systems acceptance being highly desirable
