About the role

Provide clinical in-reach and consultation-liaison services to all headspace sites.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide consultation and clinical advice on the management of dual diagnosis disorders (alcohol and other drug and co-occurring mental health) to professionals employed with headspace and within the HCIT Multidisciplinary team (MDT) with the aim of building capacity around identifying and responding to dual diagnosis presentations.
  • Deliver high level AOD clinical services for adolescents and young adults with complex dual diagnosis issues including assessment, diagnosis, brief clinical interventions and input into treatment planning, promoting application of developmentally appropriate evidence-based care, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
  • In collaboration with the headspace service, facilitate early identification and streamlined/supported/appropriate transitions of care, (both ‘step up' and ‘step down') between public mental health and headspace services. applying independent professional judgement, analytical, and stakeholder negotiation skills where necessary.
  • Complete clinical information system and administrative activities, as relevant to the provision of HCIT services.
