About the Program

The Western Family Violence Service (WFVS) is the lead provider for the integrated family violence service system in the Central Highlands sub-region.

The WFVS provides support and intervention services to adult and child victim-survivors, as well as people who use violence.

Our programs aim to support victim-survivors to remain safely within their community and to recover from the impacts of family violence and, to support accountability and change for people who have used or are using force or violence.

Role Opportunity

The Western team have a casual opportunity to join the team! You will be responsible for delivering specialist family violence interventions to clients in refuge, safer accommodation and those supported via after hours referral in line with MARAM.

Complete risk assessments, safety planning and develop plans with the aim of ensuring immediate safety from violence, as identified in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework.

About you

To be successful in the role you will come with strong communication capabilities to liaise with relevant stakeholders and referring services/programs to ensure effective service delivery and clear referral processes and pathways.

Demonstrated experience in the provision of crisis intervention, assessment, and safety planning to adults and (their) child victim-survivors who have experienced family violence is necessary to this role.

A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements. Please refer to the position description for more information.
