Who are we?

We are a privately owned family business with a strong reputation in the scrap metal recycling industry. Our primary focus is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that use end-of-life metals to create new products.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a reliable Shredder Picker / General Labourer who prioritises safety, is self-motivated, flexible, and demonstrates a strong work ethic. You should have a positive attitude, be well-mannered, and well-presented.

A valid LF forklift ticket and experience operating a forklift are highly advantageous. The successful applicant must also be available to work some weekends when required.

You’ll need your own reliable car (as public transport is limited in the area) and a valid driver’s licence.

This is a hands-on role where we’ll teach and show you what’s expected, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride and ownership in their work. The position involves standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks in a busy environment, so being physically fit and able to navigate stairs is essential.

What will my responsibilities be?

Sorting and picking materials from the shredder conveyor belt into designated bins or containers

Assisting other team members on the shredder line

Operating forklifts to move materials around the yard (when required)

Directing and managing traffic flow on site (Traffic Control ticket highly regarded)

Adhering to all safety guidelines, rules, and regulations

Liaising with staff to ensure accurate and timely operations

General housekeeping and clean-up duties

Basic maintenance tasks

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment

What do I need?

LF forklift ticket and experience (advantageous)

Previous manual labouring experience in an outdoor or industrial environment

Traffic Control ticket (desirable but not essential)

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport

Safety-first mindset and ability to follow procedures

Strong communication skills (two-way radio use essential)

Flexible attitude and willingness to assist in various tasks

Punctual, reliable, and hardworking

Physically fit for manual handling and occasional heavy lifting

This is a casual position scheduled for day shifts from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work.
