A major bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong automation experience (python and ansible).
You will be expected to leverage your expertise in automation tools like Python, Ansible, and Git to develop solutions that improve network efficiency, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python and Ansible to improve network management, monitoring, and incident response.
• Work closely with security teams to ensure that network automation strategies are aligned with the latest security protocols and best practices.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of network infrastructure changes, including routing and switching configurations.
• Integrate DDoS mitigation solutions and assist in ensuring high availability and network resilience (ideal but not required).
• Maintain and improve version control systems, particularly with Git.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network performance and security issues as they arise.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with Python and Ansible for network automation tasks.
• Proficiency in Git and working with version control systems.
• Experience with routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, VLAN, etc.).
• knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls and perimeter network architectures.
• Familiarity with software-defined networking overlays such as VXLAN EVPN or VMware NSX is a plus.
