The Opportunity:
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the cultural and creative future of Cairns. As the Executive Manager Creative Life, you will lead the strategic direction of key community-facing services, including Creative Services, Creative Venues, and Cairns Libraries. You will have the chance to influence cultural tourism, arts development, and community engagement across the region.
With responsibility for managing iconic venues like the Cairns Performing Arts Centre and Tanks Arts Centre, as well as overseeing the library network, you will drive innovative programs that bring creativity to life for diverse audiences. This role offers the chance to foster meaningful partnerships, develop cultural strategies, and make a lasting impact on the cultural vibrancy of Cairns.
About You:
You are an experienced leader with a passion for driving cultural and creative initiatives. Your strategic mindset and ability to see the bigger picture enables you to plan and deliver innovative programs that enrich communities. With a background in managing creative, cultural, or library services, you have a proven track record of overseeing complex operations and building strong partnerships to enhance community engagement.
You are a natural collaborator, adept at working with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community partners to bring cultural visions to life. Your ability to manage iconic venues and programs, from arts festivals to libraries, reflects your deep understanding of how creativity and culture shape vibrant communities.
In this role, you will use your leadership and strategic skills to continue developing Cairns as a cultural hub, while delivering inclusive and engaging services that inspire the local community. You are ready to take on the challenge of managing some of Cairns’ key community-facing services, creating lasting cultural impact in the region.
