About the role
Fortified Systems is seeking an experienced Security & Data Technician to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. This is a contract role with the opportunity to work on a variety of security systems installations and maintenance projects. For nursing homes projects we might require you to have a flu shot. On our projects, this will be settle on a day basis, meaning you will get paid a day rate to achieve certain target each day. As a technician, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various security equipment, ensuring our clients' premises remain safe and secure.
What you'll be doing
Install, configure, and test a range of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on existing security equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with security systems, and implement appropriate solutions
Provide technical support and guidance to clients on the operation of their security systems
Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including documentation of any repairs or modifications
Collaborate with the wider team to ensure the timely and effective delivery of security solutions
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a security service technician, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of security systems like Integrity, inception, protege, tecom. CCTV, access control, and alarm systems in general.
Candidates must have hands-on experience with at least two of the following security systems: Integrity, Inception, Protege, or Tecom.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and provide technical support
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
A valid driver's licence and reliable means of transportation with roof racks capable of carrying up to a 10ft ladder.
Australian work rights are required for this position.
A relevant trade certificate is required for this role.
A Security Systems trade certificate is required for this position.
