About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Bus Driver for casual position of 20-25 hours per week during school terms, with flexible availability and willingness to do split shifts.
The School Bus Driver is responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of students to and from the College and approved activities. This role requires a strong commitment to student safety, adherence to road regulations, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. The driver ensures that the College’s buses are maintained in good working condition and operates in accordance with all relevant policies and legislative requirements.
Key Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will have:
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with the College community
- Good physical fitness and ability to operate a range of buses
- Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with College Policies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in a school or similar environment, preferred.
Qualifications
- Current Blue Card (Paid)
- Provide First Aid and CPR certified (desired)
- Current Driver’s Licence (manual vehicle, MR minimum)
- Current Driver’s Authorisation
- Previous bus driving experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Transport
- Transportation of students on scheduled daily bus routes as provided by the Transport Coordinator
- Transportation of students and staff to/from various excursions, activities, and camps throughout the College year as required
- Report any maintenance and/or safety concerns to the Transport Coordinator as soon as practicable
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle at all times
- Ensure the correct tagging on and off buses of students
- Maintain compliance with all College Policies and Procedures, including PBC Transport Policy
Other
- Interact respectfully with all students, staff, parents, and visitors
- Work within the Transport Team to ensure the smooth daily running of the College
- Any other reasonable and/or ad-hoc tasks as directed by Transport Coordinator or Head of College
