About the role

As the Data Governance Analyst, you’ll be responsible for strengthening enterprise data governance practices across the organisation. You’ll drive initiatives that improve data quality, consistency and compliance, ensuring data is treated as a trusted strategic asset.

Working closely with the Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics, you’ll refine governance frameworks, manage data tools and champion data literacy across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain the organisation’s data governance program and initiatives
• Manage enterprise data governance tools (Azure Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog)
• Build and maintain a central inventory of corporate data assets and metadata
• Define and monitor data quality metrics and improvement mechanisms
• Promote data literacy through training and engagement with stakeholders
• Ensure alignment with data privacy, compliance and security standards

About you

You’re a collaborative, analytical thinker who understands both the technical and cultural sides of data governance. You thrive on solving complex data challenges, embedding standards and building confidence in how data is used and shared.

You’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing data governance programs
• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management and data lifecycle principles
• Proficiency in governance and metadata tools (preferably Azure Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog)
• Knowledge of privacy regulations (Privacy Act, Data Availability and Transparency Act, GDPR)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
