Location: Bundaberg and Surrounds
Your Role as Care Worker
You’ll deliver person-centred services across aged care, disability and community service settings. You’ll empower individuals to live more independently, safely, and meaningfully by providing personal care (showering/dressing), continence support, assistance with meals, assistance with medications, domestic duties (laundry/housework/ironing/gardening). Taking clients shopping providing transport, in home respite, centre based respite care, overnight respite (including sleepovers), social support/activities. You will provide the ability for clients to access other relevant services and any other tasks as stated in the customer care plan.
To work as part of a team to provide high quality care services and tasks as stated in the customer’s care plan, and in accordance with WMQ’s code of conduct and policies and procedures
To consult and/or give feedback to the appropriate Coordinator/Case Manager regarding each customer’s changing needs or situations.
To drive in a respectful, safe and professional manner in the course of duties ensuring any WMQ vehicles allocated are respected and maintained.
To provide a customer focused service to customers (whether Aged or with a Disability) and to work alongside their carer, families and others as outlined in the care plan and in accordance with WMQ Charter, code of conduct and policies and procedures.
To be flexible and adaptable to changing schedules within your nominated hours.
To record and submit daily tasks and timesheets accurately (i.e. in live time) via the ComCare system.
To drive in a respectful, safe and professional manner in the course of duties ensuring any WMQ vehicles allocated are respected and maintained.
To recognise and report health and environmental hazards in the customer’s home – effecting customers, carers or the extended Team. Further, to assist with corrective actions in consultation with the Coordinator.
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for compassionate, enthusiastic, qualified Community Care Workers.
Demonstrated ability to recognise and report health/environmental hazards and assist with corrective action.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to continually promote and provide excellent care and services to customers.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people on an individual basis ensuring that the highest quality care, support and customer service is provided.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent, flexible and holistic care to a variety of customers with varying needs.
Demonstrated understanding of the needs of and empathy towards older people and people with a disability.
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
Certificate III in Individual Care (or equivalent) from a recognised provider for appointment to Level 3.
Comprehensively insured Motor Vehicle, Current Queensland Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive and use own vehicle (if required) in the
